Last weekend was all about food in Rosemont, Illinois. Great Food Expo returned for its 10th season. Rosemont was the third stop for Great Food Expo this year, following Arizona and preceding New Jersey next month.
Great Food Expo features artisan brands, food tastings, cooking demonstrations and more. There was even a mixology stage for aspiring bartenders, and vendors selling fun kitchen accessories like aprons and chef hats.
I followed its tagline of “Shop. Sip. Sample.” I tried many items, including juices and teas, sweets and other edibles. I don’t drink coffee, but the coffee vendors and their many varieties tempted me. I bought several bottles of locally sourced honey, a pumpkin pie and some probiotic drinks. I also made notes to order pumpkin beverages I saw there, including juice, smoothies and soda.
