Even though less than a week has passed since my carefree holiday in the verdant hills of Ireland and Scotland, the Mid-Atlantic heat and humidity solidly grounded me back in reality and responsibility. While I’ve been to both Ireland and Scotland several times, this trip offered a new experience, as I was in town to attend a black-tie wedding at The K Club, in County Kildare, Ireland. Although small, Ireland offers a dazzling array of dining, from the Atlantic-windswept ArdBia in Galway to Michelin-starred Variety Jones in Dublin. Lastly, if you’re in the mood for a week-long excursion wrapped in local flavor, consider booking a tour with Raw Milk Retreats. Based in Dumfries, the company offers tours in Scotland and other European destinations with itineraries that include experiences like distillery tastings and cheesemaking.
