My husband and I recently attended a Philadelphia Eagles preseason game with friends. The game against the Minnesota Vikings took place on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

The four of us decided to take the train to the stadium. Hopping on Septa’s Broad Street Line, we were immediately greeted with a sea of green. The train expressed directly to the stadium, or as the announcer called it, the “Eagles Express.”

We walked past hundreds of tailgaters in the parking lots and heard many “Go Birds” and “Fly, Eagles, fly” chants as we approached the stadium. Our tickets included Touchdown Club access, which includes all-inclusive access to the club along with complimentary food and drinks. We devoured Philly classics like cheesesteaks and Chickie’s & Pete’s crab fries while we waited for the game to begin. As kick-off neared, we made our way to our seats.

The regular season starters did not play during the game, though we spotted many fan-favorite players walking the sidelines in headsets. Our seats were in direct sun for most of the first half, so we went back to the club for air conditioning and refreshments. Unfortunately, the Eagles did not play their best game. We decided to hang out in the club until the fourth quarter before returning to our seats to watch the Eagles lose.

Despite the outcome of the game, we had a fun afternoon, and it was a perfect way to celebrate the end of the summer.
