There is something timeless about traditions and the sense of overwhelming joy they can bring to a group of friends, family or peers. While there are many traditions I hold near and dear to my heart, there is one that takes the cake during the holiday season in terms of making me feel special.

Ever since a random afternoon in December 2009, there has been a jolly addition to our family. He weighs in at .9 pound and wears an elf hat that sits high in the sky. His name is Schmeky, and he watches over us every December to ensure we’re all on Santa’s nice list for the year. While he stays put in the same spot of the house during the day, he travels to the North Pole at night to report back to Santa.

The next morning is always a mystery on what type of situation Schmeky has in store for us.

Will he be hanging out with Buddy the Elf?

Wrapped in a burrito?

Or disguising himself as Taylor Swift?

Schmeky’s creativity grows year after year and has become such an important staple in our holiday festivities. It wouldn’t be Christmas without you, Schmeky!
