This past weekend I traveled to Lake Winnipesaukee for a bachelorette weekend. It was a beautiful weekend to take a boat out on the lake to enjoy the cool water and sunny skies.

We boarded our trusty pontoon boat at 10 a.m. and set out to cruise around the lake. Lake Winnipesaukee is a sight to see. The beautiful, sparkling water peacefully below the green mountains off in the distance will have you never wanting to leave.

The sun was beating down, and the water was the perfect way to cool down. We docked among other boats near a floating bar and restaurant. We set out our floats and tubes and climbed into the water. The floats were perfect to sit in the cool water and still get warmth from the sun.

Many of the other boats had similar setups. Some people set up floating chairs or multiple inner tubes to hang around their various docked pontoons and speedboats.

After some time floating and chatting, we headed over to the bar and restaurant boat. I’m still shocked it is a literal boat that actually moved. It docks where permitted, then each day motors out to open waters where it anchors for the day. Lake-goers anchor their boats around it and make their way onto the two-story boat for a drink and a snack.

We enjoyed drinks and the view of the lake from the rooftop before making our way back to our own boat.

It was the perfect day chilling on the water and soaking up the sun. Once we were back on dry land, we had a delicious, home-cooked dinner and spent the rest of the evening hanging and playing some games. We also got to take home a small tote bag and some iron-on patches to decorate with.

I could spend the rest of my summers on a boat tanning under the sun and enjoying every bit of the water … even if it means getting a little sunburnt every once in a while.
