As many of you know or have heard, New York City is synonymous with great pizza. You can find a pizzeria usually within three or four blocks of wherever you live. The other day I was treated to a pizza so good I actually wanted to go back the next day — Spunto’s.
The restaurant is located in Manhattan’s West Village on Carmine Street. Its specialty is the Shroomtown Pizza, a thin-crust work of art. The ingredients are portobello and shitake mushrooms, marinara sauce and cheese, with a special ingredient kicking it into the stratosphere: white truffle oil. The taste is amazing, spicy and full of flavor, and I highly recommend it!
