The travel company’s study focused on the 50 busiest airports, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Upgraded Points then analyzed Google and Yelp reviews for each airport, noting mentions of “friendly” or “rude” staff or TSA. Mentions were compared to the total number of reviews to calculate a ratio of positive to negative interactions, with each airport scored on a scale of 0 to 5 based on the ratio of positive mentions, for a possible score of 50.

According to the survey, the Top 5 Airports with the Friendliest Staff are
1. Portland International Airport, with a score of 44/50 and 19 percent of Yelp reviews praising the staff
2. Indianapolis International Airport, with a score of 43/50 and less than 1 percent negative mentions on Google
3. Jacksonville International Airport, with a score of 39/50 and travelers praising assistance provided by the staff
4. John Wayne Airport, known for speed, efficiency and hospitality
5. Pittsburgh International Airport, boasting a friendly staff and forward-thinking amenities
