Wellness on the Sea, staged aboard sailboat Rio (a 43-foot Beneteau Cyclades with three cabins and three heads), departs Fort Lauderdale and heads to the Bahamas outfitted with a professional crew who teach guests navigation skills, weather insights and sailing techniques. The goal of these unique sailing trips is to empower its voyagers to enjoy life and learn how to navigate new habits that promise to reshape their lives back on shore. The crew applies a mind-body spiritual and whole lifestyle approach to wellness. Eating and preparing plant-based meals under the guidance of a chef with more than 40 years of sailing and plant-based culinary experience ties the journey together.
Guests will also enjoy natural highlights of the Caribbean, including seeing dolphins up close in the wild, viewing coral reefs and countless species of colorful fish on a snorkel stop, meditating on the sailboat deck while taking in a stunning view of the sunset, and enjoying some yoga on a secluded beach. There are also stops on deserted islands in the Bahamas and the Caribbean, which feature scenery perfect for vacation photos or periods of reflection.

A seven-day vegan sailing charter starts at $5,500 with meals and drinks, or $197 per person per day. In addition to the multiday Caribbean sailing experience, GetMyBoat also offers other options with prices based on the specific needs of groups and individuals. They include a four-hour sailing experience starting at $600 with snacks and drinks, and an eight-hour day sailing starting at $1,000, including two meals, snacks and drinks for four guests.
Day cruising and sailing charters require at least five to seven days’ notice to prepare the boat for its journey. Rio day cruises cast off from the boat’s dock at sunrise and will return after sunset. Weekend cruising and sailing charters begin Thursday nights at 9 p.m. or Friday at 1 a.m., returning Sunday or Monday by 6 p.m., weather permitting.
The company also offers an app for iOS and Android where travelers can research the company’s many on-water adventures and eco-tours.
