Florida’s Emerald Coast beckons most travelers for its white quartz sand and clear and emerald waters, but the northwest Florida destination also boasts some world-class golf courses, each distinct and carefully designed. And, as a bonus, if you stay at either Camp Creek Inn or Watersound Inn, you receive access to members-only courses like The Third, Camp Creek and Shark’s Tooth. Here’s your one-stop guide to golf courses in the area:

© The Third Golf Course

The Third

Opened March 2025, this Davis Love III-designed course, part of Watersound Club, boasts expansive greens, strategically placed bunkers and six tee options. Golfers enjoy the flexibility to tailor their round to their own ability and playing style. The 18-hole, par-71 course utilized existing topography to create an impressive and challenging course.

Camp Creek Golf Course

Located just outside Camp Creek Inn, this Tom Fazio-designed, 18-hole course winds through sand dunes, rolling fairways and native vegetation. Also part of Watersound Club, this course provides a demanding but friendly experience on the links. At the 12th tee, you’ll even find a restored 1958 Chevrolet Viking truck transformed into a wood-fired oven serving pizzas, sliders and soft pretzels with beer cheese. Need we say more?

Shark’s Tooth

Designed by Greg Norman, this course is tucked along Lake Powell, Florida’s largest coastal dune lake, offering a more secluded round. Expect deep bunkers, sweeping views of pine forest and water, and rolling greens. The on-site Shark Shack offers tasty dishes like the Shack Burger, as well as craft cocktails, while the newly renovated clubhouse offers post-round dining and drinks.

Origins Golf Course

Open to the public, this 10-hole, par-3 course is ideal for travelers more on a time crunch but still wishing to get out on the greens. The course draws inspiration from traditional Scottish courses.

Windswept Dunes Golf Course

Also a public course, this massive and unique 18-hole course spans a whopping 750 acres of rolling dunes, complete with a large putting green and dedicated chipping area with a sand bunker.

Review: Prestige Oceanfront Resort

Vancouver Island gets progressively wilder as you leave Victoria behind and follow the coastline west. By the time you reach Sooke, about 45 minutes from the provincial capital, city blocks have surrendered to forests, rocky shoreline, sheltered coves and long views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Prestige Oceanfront Resort rises directly above Sooke Harbour, where boats move across the basin, and the Olympic Mountains form the horizon beyond the strait.

Make the Most of Air Travel by Knowing the Ins and Outs of Loyalty Programs

With points, status, partnerships, bonuses, and the ongoing question of whether they are actually worth your time and effort, it’s hard to keep track of all the moving parts.
