On April 22 I took to the streets of LA with a couple friends and more than 8,000 athletes to run the Go LA 10k. The event was nothing short of amazing. To promote a more green approach to travel and join as a community (and promote its new Epic React shoe), Nike shut down the California 90 Freeway from Culver City to Marina Del Rey. It was the first time since LA hosted the Olympics in 1984 they closed the freeway.
From the moment I arrived at 6:30 a.m. there was music, energy and entertainment. The experience running on a major freeway in Los Angeles and crossing over the 405 was incredible. When I crossed the finish line, I was greeted with a Nike bag, refreshments, drink tickets to the beer garden and Powerbeats Wireless Headphones. I would say the early wake-up call was well worth it!
