Explore Norway’s rugged natural landscape while learning about its rich folklore on this new tour from Up Norway. The nine-day itinerary, Myths and Marvels in Helgeland, brings guests to remote sections of the Arctic Circle, known as the gateway to the midnight sun.

The journey kicks off in Bodø with a one-night hotel stay and the option for a half-day bike and hike excursion or a less strenuous e-bike and history tour. Days two through four are spent on Støtt Island. Here, travelers will explore by foot, bike and kayak, discovering the untouched coastline and glaciers. At the end of day four, guests travel to Træna, a group of remote islands off the northern coast of Norway.

In Træna, guests stay at newly opened Relais & Châteaux property Ytri, through day seven. Highlights from the Træna portion of the itinerary include Kirkehelleren cave exploration; a visit to a natural cathedral on Sanna Island; fishing and kayaking excursions; and a stop at quirky Myken Distillery, located on a tiny, remote island.

Days seven–nine offer guests the option of a culinary or wildlife experience. The culinary side includes a traditional Sami lunch with a local family and visit to sustainable farm restaurant Til Elise fra Marius. For the wildlife experience, visit Lovund for birdwatching and a scenic train ride.
