On a rainy day one of my favorite things to do is see some beautiful art. Since California is now a rainy state, we took the opportunity to finally visit Orange County Museum of Art, just opened in October 2022 at Segerstrom Center for the Arts campus. It is place where anyone is welcome.
We enjoyed Daniel Arsham’s where you go, there you are exhibit. This is Arsham’s first U.S. show, and how lucky the museum is to have him. Arsham creates pieces that activated my love for post-apocalyptic films. He takes classical pieces like Venus de Milo and combines it with pyrite crystals to throw off your idea of this piece of history that barely survived; and to top it off, it’s in black, not white, marble. What!? Blew my mind. I’m an art history buff and love how contemporary art tries to put these classical pieces on their head.

Another one of my favorite pieces, because I love cars, is his version of the Back to the Future DeLorean. Another mind blown with this piece.
