The new Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel makes its mark on Glasgow with an opening in a landmark location. The historic setting reflects the previous Georgian townhouse’s elegance and style with lofty ceilings, wood paneling and marble fireplaces.
The property offers Bo & Birdy as its on-site restaurant and bar. The eatery combines elegance with a casual setting and Scottish dining by the first female executive head chef of a luxury hotel in Scotland. Signature dishes include a shortcrust pie and cheddar macaroni cheese. The bar, meanwhile, serves craft cocktails garnished with peacock feathers, local whiskeys and afternoon tea.
The hotel’s penthouse suite offers the ultimate luxury, with two bedrooms, a private elevator, a sunken bath tub in the master bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe, a kitchen, a private roof garden, dining room for 10 guests and great views of Glasgow.
The spa provides the city’s only thermal spa experience, with a cryotherapy pool, crystal steam room and relaxation pools.
“Glasgow is one of the United Kingdom’s most exciting cities, it’s bursting with culture, music, history and personality, making it a great location for the newest Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant. Bo & Birdy will offer a unique new dining experience in the city, bringing to life soulful, hearty dishes using the best of Scottish produce…” said Murray Thomson, general manager, Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel.
