Elephant Parade

A herd of baby elephants are taking over Resorts World Las Vegas. On Memorial Day weekend, 26 life-size baby elephant statues appeared at the newest resort on the Strip.

Daejeon Prepares for Its Iconic Zero O’Clock Festival

Daejeon, South Korea, looks forward to August 2024 and the return of its iconic tradition, the Zero O’Clock Festival. This year, the event is held Aug. 9 –17 with a time travel theme featuring past, present and future zones. Find events pertaining to each zone’s characteristics in the area of Jungang-ro Street, from Daejeon Station to the former site of the South Chungcheong Provincial Office. These streets will be free of vehicles, and public transportation is highly recommended.

Knowing my interest in public art, my sister always lets me know when her Village of Tinley Park debuts Benches on the Avenue. In its 19th year, the popular public art program turns functional street benches into colorful, creative attractions. Located in downtown Tinley Park, the 20 benches will remain through October.

Draw Together

Over the weekend I unleashed my inner artist on the sidewalks of Highland Park, Illinois. Armed with my 12-pack of sidewalk chalk, I joined many others for Draw Together, a fun neighborhood event held in and around The Art Center.
