Hiking at the Wissahickon
With summer winding down, my husband and I took advantage of the slightly cooler temps and made our way to Wissahickon Valley Park in Philadelphia for a hike. It was my first time exploring the park, and with more than 57 miles of trails, there is plenty to see!

Hiking in Utah
Just before New Year’s Eve, my sister and I traveled to Utah to ring in 2019 with some hiking. Our flight from Philadelphia International Airport landed in Las Vegas (LAS) around 8:30 p.m., we picked up our rental car and headed for Escalante, Utah. The drive was more than five hours, and I can’t recommend it less, but soon enough we were at our destination: Entrada Escalante Lodge. The hotel concierge was kind enough to accommodate our late check-in and left instructions for us along with a key — all too eager to get out of the car and get to bed, I was relieved they made it so simple for us.

Shakespeare Under the Stars
With great anticipation Tuesday evening my husband and I made our way 30 minutes down the road from our house to see our first outdoor play of the season at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Ore. The repertory season begins in mid-February with performances at the festival's two indoor venues, but the summer shows in the outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theater (the oldest stage in the complex) don't start up until early June.
