ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: The salmon- pink facade of this grand hotel is the first thing you see when pulling up to the lobby. Upon actually walking in, however, the pink gives way to clean, white marble and a fresh rose scent that travels through the corridors. A courteous front desk attendant welcomed me and provided me with my room key as well as a map of the layout of the hotel, as it’s quite large and one can get lost among the different amenities and sites.
GUEST QUARTERS: Classic, elegant luxury in an unpretentious display created a common theme throughout the guestroom. My standard superior king room, while it did not offer the greatest view, embodied comfort and peace within. The door opened into a small hallway lined with a closet and leading to the main space of a lounge chair and side table, Nespresso coffee machine, Bliss bed flanked by two dark-wood side tables, a television perched on a dresser, and a glass-topped desk. Beyond the soft bed, my favorite part of the room was the bathroom with its white and black marble floors, walls and countertop; great lighting; and plenty of counter space beneath the mirror. The bathroom featured a tub and shower offering Chuan Spa bath amenities.
SERVICES/AMENITIES: I indulged in a delicious, hearty breakfast at The Terrace, enjoying the thickest French toast I’ve ever seen in my life. Topped with fresh macerated berries and honey and accompanied by a side of chicken apple sausage, this meal was fresh and the perfect start to a morning on the property. The Terrace also serves lunch and dinner. A beer, wine or handcrafted cocktail alongside bar bites like charcuterie at The Tap Room is a must with its 1930s-era décor and outdoor seating beneath intimate lighting. The gym, situated within the hotel’s spa entrance, offers state-of-the-art equipment for both cardio and weights, all with views of the hotel’s entrance.
