While Mexico City neighborhoods like Roma and Condesa get a lot of buzz, put Zona Rosa on your radar.
Here, you’ll get an eclectic mix from boutiques, restaurants and the vibrant LGBTQIA+ community to one-of-a-kind museums, such as Museo del Chocolate, and Little Seoul, with some of the best Korean food in town.
Visitors find plenty to do in this slice of Mexico City. In addition to the chocolate museum, look for another specialty museum in the neighborhood, Centro de la Imagen, a collection of vintage prints; photographic, bibliographic and documentary materials; and more.

If you’re in the mood for a modern shopping mall experience, head to chic Reforma 222 with its name-brand stores as well as local retailers, restaurants and a movie theater. For a different shopping vibe, walk along Calle Genova, the neighborhood’s pedestrian-only street, with its shops and restaurants. Then there’s Mercado de Artesanias de la Ciudadela on the eastern edge of Zona Rosa, where you’ll find an impressive array of artisanal Mexican goods.
You can’t be in Zona Rosa without strolling along Paseo de la Reforma and seeing the famous Angel de la Independencia (Angel of Independence) monument that celebrates Mexico’s fight for independence.
Feast on all the goodies from street food vendors such as yummy churros and elotes. More than the food will tempt you, though, with folks selling nearly everything you can imagine.
Zona Rosa is all about the nightlife. You can take your pick of Korean karaoke bars, but there is no shortage of all kinds of clubs and bars. See for yourself what everyone is raving about at the Handshake Speakeasy, named North America’s Best Bar for 2025 for the second time in a row; in 2024 it topped The World’s Best 50 Bars list. For the LGBTQIA+ crowd, hot spots include Kinky Bar and Tom’s Leather Bar.
For some of the neighborhood’s best cuisine, get a table at Salazar for French-Mexican fusion cuisine you’ll enjoy as you dine on a rooftop with epic city views. Another favorite is Balta, beloved for its Mexican-Mediterranean fare.
As for where to stay, consider NH Collection Mexico City Reforma or Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City.

Between these, cities give way to small communities with art galleries, local restaurants and shops selling beachwear.
