Etihad Airways will grow its Airbus A380 route network with new service between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Sydney (SYD) next year. The carrier will offer select double-decker service between the two cities from June 2015. Etihad plans to take delivery of the first of its 10 new A380 aircraft later this year and will initially operate the airplane on flights between Abu Dhabi and London (LHR) from Dec. 27. From May 2015, Etihad’s three-times-daily London Heathrow route will be served exclusively by the 496-seat aircraft. Between December and June, the Gulf carrier will also introduce its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on six of its routes, including Düsseldorf (DUS) and Doha (DOH) from December; Washington, D.C. (IAD), and Mumbai (BOM) from January; and Brisbane (BNE) and Moscow (DME) from June.
