Delta Air Lines has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging rival carriers, United Airlines and American Airlines, to put up or shut up with a new program for its corporate clients.

It’s a simple concept: If Delta falls behind United or American in on-time arrival and flight completion rates for domestic flights, Delta will issue travel credits to its corporate clients’ accounts. Travel credits of $1,000 to $250,000 relate to each client’s experience with delays and cancellations: the more delays and cancellations, the higher the credit.

“We’ve been focused on relentless operational success, because any carrier could replicate anything we do, whether it be seats or food or Sky Clubs, but they can’t replicate our performance,” Bob Somers, vice present of global sales, Delta Air Lines told Bloomberg Business in an interview.
