This year is set to be a milestone one for Buffalo, New York, as the city prepares to welcome a lineup of new offerings and openings. From waterfront and cultural openings to a new Buffalo Bills stadium, 2026 is a big year for the city.
Debuting in time for the Bills’ 2026 season, highly anticipated Highmark Stadium will open with 60,000 seats; ultra-premium lounge space; and the world’s largest heated stadium canopy. Acoustics are designed to carry the roar of the crowd straight into the heated, natural grass field.
New WUFO Black Radio History Museum
The Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor will soon welcome this new nonprofit museum dedicated to preserving the history of Black radio. The museum will lie within WUFO’s headquarters, Western New York’s first radio station owned by a Black woman, Sheila Brown.
Situated along Lake Erie’s waterfront, this 100-acre park is currently among the largest urban parks developed in the country. The park redesign will introduce new attractions, including a kayak launch, amphitheater, picnic grounds and new kids’ play area. A pedestrian bridge will connect shoreline trails and wildlife habitats.
