Day Three started with a quick breakfast at the hotel before packing up and heading over to our new hotel, At Six. When we arrived at the hotel, I was stunned by how beautiful it was. The check-in process was smooth, and we headed up to our rooms. My room was just as beautiful as the lobby. I was pleasantly surprised to see I had a balcony.
Once we were settled into our rooms, we all met in the lobby to head out for the day. With the rain holding off a little bit throughout the morning, we decided to take the 10-minute walk to Old Town to explore a little bit and partake in a Swedish tradition, Fika, or a midday coffee break where we enjoyed coffee and some delicious Swedish Danishes. After we finished, it started to rain pretty hard, so we had to call a taxi to get to our next destination, Fotografiska.
Fotografiska, The Contemporary Museum of Photography, Art & Culture, is a living and vibrant place where photography comes to life. The museum features photography and visual arts from around the world by all types of artists, from well-known photographers to newer generations of artists. We explored all the different exhibits before heading to lunch at the museum’s unique farm-to-table restaurant.
It was still raining once we were done, so we had to take a taxi back to the hotel for some down time before our next activity. Next, we had a tour of the At Six hotel where we learned more about the design and see all the different meeting spaces, bars and dining areas. Afterwards we headed to dinner in the main dining room.
We tasted the different types of appetizers the restaurant offers and then ordered our own meal, drinks and desserts. The food was delicious. After our dining experience, a couple of us headed back out to the Old Town to grab a beer at one of the oldest pubs in Stockholm. The pub featured old wooden tables as well candlesticks on every table. It also featured an old-time chandelier lit by candles.
By the time we finished our drinks, I was exhausted and ready for bed, hoping to wake up fresh for our last full day in Stockholm.
Stay tuned for my last installation in my Stockholm blog series.
