I have known fine artist and illustrator Sara Richards for many years. Neither of us remembers exactly where we met, but our paths have crossed in several cities on the convention circuit.Sara Richard

Sara Richard

An immensely talented creator, Sara is in high demand all over the world for conventions and projects. Fortunately, I was able to get Sara for a Talking Travel interview between trips.

Recently, Sara’s work has taken her to Shanghai. Showing her appreciation for the city, Sara shared thoughts on her favorite spots.

She also spent time in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This trip was all about history and ghost-hunting, although work for a future project did inspire her. Once again, Sara discussed her favorite spots. She also told a couple stories of paranormal activity and familial connections to the area.

After slowing down from the grind of conventions, Sara decided to ease back onto the scene. She talked about using conventions to visit areas from her wish list. Of course, I had to mention Chicago because I haven’t seen her since New York Comic Con in 2022.Sara Richard

On her social media accounts, Sara has interesting pictures, stories and videos from her recent travels. She also posts other activities she does such as cleaning grave stones, working out with hanging hoops and a trapeze, and excursions in her newly purchased camper.

Sun, Sea, Cliffs and Bridges Beckon on the Pacific Coast Highway

On one side, waves breathe in and out across wide stretches of sand or explode against jagged rocks, sending spray shooting into the air. On the other side, the scenery changes: Cliffs rise like walls, vineyards clip past in neat rows, pine trees line the road. Between these, cities give way to small communities with art galleries, local restaurants and shops selling beachwear.
