When actress and television host Patricia Kara last appeared on Talking Travel, she had just released her book Dream On…Now Deliver. Since then, she has traveled quite a bit, along with writing another book.
Kara rose to fame on television’s Deal Or No Deal. Originally accompanying briefcase No. 9, Kara eventually took on other roles. Kara and host Howie Mandel are the only cast members to appear on all three versions of the show.
Her experience with DOND is the subject of her upcoming book Open the Case. Due to be released on September 9 (symbolically matching her briefcase number). It promises to be filled with stories and pictures from her many years connected to the show. Kara took advice from her first book and showed her resilience by overcoming the obstacle of losing part of the book due to computer issues.
Writing two books did not stop Kara from traveling. In this Talking Travel interview, Kara gives an update on all the places she visited since our first interview. As expected from someone who loves travel so much, Kara added many destinations to her passport.
In addition to all the other locations, Kara returned many times to her native Chicago, along with embracing her Greek heritage with trips to Greece. Kara revealed some of her favorite spots in each of those locations.
While Kara revealed some of her summer travel plans, she also has destinations to be determined by her book promotion tour in the fall. One definite stop on that tour will be the Chicago area.
With all of her travels, I have to wonder if a travelogue is in her future. Her passion and travel miles are the perfect combination to make for another interesting book.
