Adam McArthur is a great example of knowing what you want at a young age and achieving that goal. Stating he was inspired by cartoons at a young age, he begged his parents for a chance to pursue his love of cartoons, acting and voice-overs. After taking acting lessons when he was 16, he quickly landed many radio spots for Macy’s, and he hasn’t stopped since.
His voice work in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Jujutsu Kaisen, The LeBrons, Disney XD and more, as well as his voice work in video games, made him internationally known. Guinness World Records recognized Jujutsu Kaisen as “Most In-demand Animated Show.” That notoriety from multiple successful franchises makes him a hugely popular guest on the celebrity and comic convention circuit.
When he isn’t working, McArthur practices martial arts. Possessing three black belts, he also teaches Kung Fu and Judo. Various tournaments provide even more opportunities to travel.
In our interview McArthur discussed how his career opened travel to him and how his fame affects his travel. Unfortunately, work also sometimes limits the amount of exploring he does, but he always finds ways to get the feel of every location. On the positive side, voice-over work reduces recognizability, even in Japan where his manga and anime work is most popular.
