It has felt like forever since the Northeast has seen colorful leaves on our trees and chilly weather in the air. As an autumn enthusiast, I have been counting down the minutes until this time of year since the clock struck midnight on Sept. 1.

Fall comes with my favorite activities like hayrides, apple picking, haunted houses and pumpkin carving. However, the best days in fall are spent at home on Sunday, football watching, soup eating and couch lounging.

Our house fills up fast with friends, family and neighbors (all to root for our favorite two-time Super Bowl champs, the Eagles).

While the Birds take over the flat-screen TV, NFL RedZone is always set up nearby to watch play-by-plays of the other active games.

A tradition that holds strong in my house is making a different soup each weekend once fall rolls around. My dad is crowned head chef, as he likes to experiment with new flavors and recipes each week.

My personal favorite is chicken and wild rice, but you can never say no to his cheeseburger soup. It’s a hit!

Now all we need is the Eagles back on a winning streak again. Go Birds!
