October is, by far, one of the best months in Florida. The summer’s humidity and extreme heat have finally passed. I can go outside and enjoy paradise without sweating profusely. The wet season came to an end and the crisp, cooler mornings are so refreshing. It feels like Christmas when you see temperatures starting with 6 or 7.

The cooler weather also helps make beach days more enjoyable. During summer it is so warm out you almost have to be in the ocean the entire time. The sand is also quite toasty, and the Gulf can feel like bathwater at times. I love the heat, though, and will take it over the cold up north.
This past week I enjoyed a great October beach day at Sharky’s Beach in Venice, Florida. It is a great beach with two restaurants, Sharky’s on the Pier and Fins. It is a great place to bring friends who are visiting. Sharky’s was also recently repaired and renovated following Hurricane Milton last year. It looks great!

I arrived around 11 a.m. with my boyfriend, Sawyer, and all of our beach gear. We soon met up with our bonus mom, Heide, her daughter Emma and Emma’s boyfriend, Pete. Emma and Pete were in town visiting Heide from Columbus, Ohio, as Ohio State University was on fall break. I think they came at the perfect time.

The beach had a great atmosphere, with many out enjoying the day. People were fishing from the pier, and the Gulf is cooler now, more to my liking. We grabbed lunch at Sharky’s, where I enjoyed a delicious Caesar salad — refreshing and the perfect amount for lunch.

We soon made our way back to the beach to enjoy the great weather.
