There’s something magical about waterfalls. I don’t know if the appeal comes from the height or width or the sound the rushing water makes as it barrels over the rocks. Maybe it’s the visual aspect of the flow and the splash created at the pool of water at the bottom. We are drawn to them; and whenever I find one on a map of a hiking trail, I must find it! In fact, I found one on a map near Ithaca called Buttermilk Falls that I plan to visit this week over the Fourth of July holiday.
