I recently learned about ROAM Luggage, a brand that allows you to create your own luggage design. I was intrigued by the concept and set out to learn more. Those designing their own suitcases can choose the colors for every detail from a palette of choices — there won’t be any mistaking your bag on the luggage carousel anymore! ROAM was created by one of the founders of TUMI Luggage, alongside a team of experts. All the luggage is handcrafted in the United States. Once designed, it is custom-built by American artisans and shipped within one to five days.

I decided to design my own suitcase, choosing the Versatile, Mid-Size Check-In option. I have several carry-on suitcases and a large check-in bag, so this option suited my own and my husband’s travel needs.

Step One is selecting the bag size, then it’s time to choose a front shell color. I went with Cornwall Slate. For the back shell color, Step Three, I was torn between Kyoto Black and Glasgow Gray before ultimately going with black. I then selected Glasgow Gray for my trim colors in step four. At this step, I realized you could customize even more, so I played around a bit and went with Tromsø Ice for my zipper color, Vail White for the wheels and Cornwall Slate for the monogram patch.

Once designed, I checked out, and now I eagerly await arrival of the customized bag in 10 days! I can’t wait to share my experiences using the luggage with you soon.
