Sunday officially marked the first day of fall, but here in North Carolina, it still feels like summer. To celebrate, we kicked off fall with a Sunday Funday. We began with mimosas and friends on a boat ride to Little Washington, where we even created a new mimosa drink we named the Pamlico Sunrise (since we were on the Pamlico River). If you’d like to try it, it’s a glass of Prosecco with a splash of orange juice, a splash of pineapple juice and just a dash of grenadine. Cheers to extending summer!
The sun was shining and the river was calm, making for a lovely ride to the Washington waterfront.

We decided to try a new restaurant, Brandy’s Cocktails & Crepes. In addition to cocktails and crepes, the menu also offers acai bowls, poke bowls and tapas, but with a name like Cocktails & Crepes, that’s what we were eager to try first!
Some of the brunch cocktails included a Bloody Mary; a small pitcher of Sangria; and a very fancy, albeit difficult-to-drink Washington Spritz, served in a beautifully garnished tall glass.

We sampled a few different crepes, both savory and sweet, including ham and Swiss, spinach and goat cheese, and a sweet crème brûlée crepe. Each one was delicious!

After brunch, we took a stroll past the iconic crab statues to Pitt Street Brewing Company on the Pamlico, where we switched gears a little to embrace fall, as they had just celebrated Oktoberfest the night before (I was sad to miss it!). However, my husband was happy to try the tasty Oktoberfest beer. Prost to welcoming fall!
