We’re well into January; and although this winter has been mild in my area, I still long for warmer weather. I am already tired of the bare trees and lack of color outside.
As I was designing the upcoming February issue of Global Traveler, the article about Bermuda really made me want to go someplace warm for vacation. The blue water, the white sand, the warm sun beckons. But where to go?

I never know where to start when choosing a destination for a fun vacation. Do I want to revisit a spot — Aruba is always a favorite, and Riviera Maya is sure to please. Or should I explore someplace new? There are just so many places I want to see. Costa Rica is high on my list; I would love to hike in a rainforest and maybe even see a sloth in its natural habitat! But the Bahamas has those adorable swimming pigs. And I would love to one day stay in an overwater bungalow in Fiji. Snorkeling in the Cook Islands sounds simply heavenly!
Oh, so many sunny, warm places to choose from. I think part of the fun of planning a vacation is doing the research, seeing what resorts are out there and dreaming of the next adventure!
