Working for a travel magazine, it’s easy spending time detailing destinations where I’ve recently traveled. So for a change of pace, I thought it might be good to take a look forward instead of backward and outline some places I’m headed in the coming months:
- Our next awards event will be at The Sofitel Los Angeles Beverly Hills in mid-August. It’s always a pleasure to honor those in the travel industry with audience-voted awards, but there’s a special thrill doing so in southern California (I think it’s the laid-back, California vibe). In addition to the awards presentation, I’m looking forward to a client lunch at The Ivy, known for their outstanding cuisine and charming ambience (not to mention potential Hollywood actor sightings).
- Shortly after our awards, I’m headed across the pond to Dublin, Ireland. Several of my colleagues have also visited Ireland within the last 18 months, making it easy for me to gain suggestions and plan my short itinerary. I’m technically in town to see my alma mater kick off the college football season at The Aer Lingus Classic, but I’m excited to also explore Dublin and hopefully squeeze in a daytrip outside the city center.
- Starting this September, I’m preparing for business travel. I know my upcoming time in Istanbul will be an incredible and unforgettable adventure. Though this trip is not completely solidified, I’m anticipating a wonderful experience with our clients/friends in Türkiye, including time for enjoying the local cuisine and markets.
- After two years on the sidelines, my son has recovered from his knee injury, and that means I’ll be cheering him on during college football season in St. Louis this fall. I’m headed to the Gateway to the West in late September and will try to be on hand for several other games during the season as well. If you wonder who the loud mom is in the stands, it’s probably me!

Later in the year I’m looking at potential trips to Boston, Atlanta, Ohio, Savannah and Maine before the end of the year. There’s also plenty of open dates for opportunities to meet new partners and to thank current clients for their support of Global Traveler.
Should we be ever-so-lucky to see each other during one of the aforementioned trips, be sure to let me know (looking at you, K-State Wildcats fans!).

In the meantime, I hope you’re actively planning your travels for the remainder of 2025 and making plans for where you want to go in 2026. There’s an entire world out there, ready to be explored … it just takes a little courage and curiosity to get started!
