Greetings from exactly 32,000 feet somewhere over Memphis, Tenn. I write this from my American Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, but when you read this, I’ll be enjoying a day in Los Angeles with my colleagues Katie Skrzek, Angelique Platas, Carly Allen and Kaitlind Eydelloth, following a successful sixth-annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards event.
For more than five years, we’ve hosted our GT Tested Reader Survey awards and our Leisure Lifestyle Awards in the City of Angels, affording us plenty of time to explore the city, particularly Beverly Hills. I consider Katie my colleague partner in crime for finding the best sweet treats and goodies. One shop stands out as a favorite stop we return to on every visit: Sugarfina.
While it may sound odd to describe a candy store as beautiful, that’s exactly what Sugarfina is. It looks like a chic boutique with its natural light; impeccable displays; and cute, colorful, fun candies. Think Champagne gummy bears, unique chocolates, themed candy and so much more. We make it a point to visit each time we’re in L.A., and we’ve turned our fellow colleagues into Sugarfina fiends as well. In fact, the candy often appears in gift bags during our holiday Secret Santa.
On this visit, I’m hoping to find some Mother’s Day goodies and sample the candy store’s recent collaboration with Corona Light. I love trying the gift boxes Sugarfina creates in collaboration with a range of partners. Here’s to another successful — and sweet — visit!
