Already more than deserving of visitors, next year is a particularly important year for Serbia’s capital city. Belgrade teems with museums, historical sites and cultural institutions, from Belgrade Fortress to the historic streets of Zemun to Museum of Contemporary Art to National Museum of Serbia.

But the city has much in store in 2027, making Belgrade one of the anticipated must-visit destinations of 2027.

New Nikola Tesla Museum

One of Belgrade’s most-anticipated projects, this museum will soon relocate to historic Milan Vapa Paper Mill. The building, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, was selected in early 2025 and is scheduled for completion in 2027, offering visitors an immersive tribute to one of the world’s greatest inventors in a striking architectural setting.

EXPO 2027

This event will place Serbia at the center of global dialogue on progress, creativity and cooperation, bringing millions of visitors to the city to experience a world-class international exhibition.

New Historic Museum of Serbia

Belgrade’s iconic former Main Railway Station at Sava Square will soon be the new home of Historical Museum of Serbia. An unveiling ceremony is scheduled for early 2027.

New Museum of Natural History Belgrade

A new facility for the museum is planned near Ušće, one of the city’s most prominent riverfront areas. The project is closely timed to the EXPO 2027 timeframe.

Reconstructed Aeronautical Museum Belgrade

Near Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, this museum is undergoing major modernizations to include new hangars and upgraded exhibition spaces. The renewed museum is slated to open in 2027.

Relocated Museum of the City of Belgrade

As part of the city’s greater plan to create a museum quarter stretching between Sava Square and the Resavska/Mostar area, this museum will have a newly reconverted home by 2027.
