I finally saw a full performance by The Alright Maybes. Previously, I saw lead singer Angie Reinhart perform with her sister as part of an ensemble act and in a short set, but last week I saw a full two-hour performance by The Alright Maybes.
I first became aware of the band a while back when I saw Angie join her sister, Haley, on stage. A longtime fan of Haley, I was very impressed with Angie in that limited session. When I learned she had her own band, I looked for one of their shows. Although I tried, scheduling kept me away from the band’s performances around the area. Finally, when my friend Tony saw they were performing in Wheaton, about an hour from each of our homes, we made plans to go.
Their appearance was part of Town Square Wheaton‘s summer concert series. Opened in 1992, Town Square Wheaton is a sprawling outdoor mall. In the center is a large common area, perfect for an evening of music.
Upon meeting there, we dined at 302 Wheaton, walking distance from the stage. A burger and craft beer joint, its menu is a bit limited but solid. I thought the strawberry milkshake was the real star, though.
After eating, we settled into seats by the stage. The band performed covers and original tunes for two hours, with one short break. I started making mental notes of my favorites, but the list grew too long. Some highlights included original tunes “Gone,” “Rose” and “Minds Made Up.” In the middle of the set, drummer Julian Daniell took the lead on “Come and Get Your Love” and nailed it. Angie also sounded great on a couple Blondie covers. Another fun moment was the band’s rendition of the B-52s’ “Love Shack.” The variety of the songs and the mix of vocals showed the versatility and range of the band. Also in the band are Luke Ray on guitar, Danny Cohen on keyboards and Adam Wayne on bass.

Another special part of any Reinhart show is the family feel. We spotted Angie’s musician parents, Harry and Patti, in the crowd. We also saw many family friends. There really is a unique spirit to any of the family’s shows.

I also got a kick out of Tony enjoying the band. I turned him onto Haley a couple years ago, and he became a fan of Angie’s (like I did) after seeing her at Haley’s show.
Now that I have seen The Alright Maybes do a full show, I want to see them again and again. We’re already looking for future shows in the area.

At the namesake luxury, 5-star all-inclusive resort in Saint Lucia, the concept of “stolen time” used to be reserved for couples escaping to canoodle, reconnect and perhaps rekindle in sumptuous accommodations during a romantic getaway on the lush Caribbean island. But when StolenTime by Rendezvous rebranded in late 2022 to welcome all adult guests and focus more on wellness, the philosophy expanded to encompass self-reflection, personal growth and enrichment. After all, time is our most precious commodity, one that’s finite and too quickly slips through our grasp; we need to find those moments that matter and make them count.
