If you have read my blogs, you may have noticed my affinity for trying out new restaurants. If you’ve picked up on that, then you might have guessed the one thing I am always interested in is Happy Hour. This glorious bit of time often means specials on food and drinks and an excuse to get out of the house for some weekday fun.

This week my sister, cousin and I went to Blondie on Main Street in Manayunk. The specials are available at the bar 4–6 p.m., Monday through Friday, so after we finished work for the day, we made our way over to check it out. When we arrived, we ordered a round of drinks. My sister and I opted for the lemon drop martini, pleasantly sweet, while my cousin went for a smokey-tasting margarita.

As far as food goes, they had a good variety of choices. I was excited for the oysters on the menu, but we found out they were no longer available. Instead, we shared wings in three different sauces as well as fried pickles.

Overall, everything was decent. Not out-of-this-world but still tasty and worth the trip, plus it’s always nice to get out during the week with friends and family.
