This past October, METT Barcelona opened on Tibidabo, Barcelona, Spain’s, tallest hill. The 5-star luxury hotel takes over the 1925 landmark Gran Hotel La Florida, which hosted legendary figures like Ernest Hemingway, James Stewart and, more recently, Bruce Springsteen, and Barack and Michelle Obama.

Now, 100 years after its inception, METT Barcelona transforms the building into an elevated hotel with 70 carefully designed rooms and suites, terraces, an infinity pool, gastronomic offerings, and an exclusive spa. All guestrooms and suites come equipped with amenities from French brand Botanyc. Signature suites boast spacious rooms, a separate living area and large windows framing the city. Signature suites with a plunge pool also give guests the chance to soak in views of the city from a private outdoor pool. There are also lifestyle rooms with private terraces, as well as sea-view suites.

METT Barcelona is home to Valmont Red Carpet Spa, a wellness space with specialized therapists and exclusive technology. Food venues include Albarada, a contemporary restaurant reimagining Mediterranean cuisine; 1925 Vermutería, an eatery offering authentic tapas inspired by traditional Catalan dishes; and Florida Lounge by Lladró, a stylish meeting point serving light fare.

The Pool Club provides views alongside a heated outdoor pool, sun loungers and food service.

The hotel’s lobby displays a permanent collection of Lladró’s — a Spanish brand recognized worldwide for its artistic porcelain — most avant-garde creations, such as Jaime Hayon’s The Fantasy, The Guest and Embraced collections.
