Qatar Airways continues to grow its fleet with the recent delivery of three new aircraft in one day. The delivery of two Boeing 787 Dreamliners and one Boeing 777 brought the airline’s fleet count up to 129 passenger and cargo aircraft. With the receipt of its newest aircraft at its hub, the state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport, Qatar now operates 17 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 37 Boeing 777s, consisting of a combination of 777-300ERs and 777-200LRs.
“We are very happy to receive three more of our most popular aircraft from Boeing all on the same day reinforcing the fact that this is the ‘year of the fleet,’” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO, Qatar Airways. “The addition of the two 787s and one 777 ensures that we are able to continue with our commitment to offer our passengers the most comfortable experience in the sky when traveling with us. And we are very pleased to be able to work so closely with Boeing to ensure that our aircraft provide our passengers with the best possible on-board experience.”
One of the fastest growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world, Qatar flies to 145 key business and leisure destinations across six continents.
