Of all the website projects I’ve worked on for Global Traveler, this year’s silent auction benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the one that has provided the most satisfaction. It’s a project that has prompted very personal, moving responses from visitors who’ve survived leukemia, lymphoma or related cancers. I don’t know anyone whose life hasn’t been touched by leukemia at some point. I lost a good friend to this awful cancer a few years ago, and I’ve known two others who fought valiantly. The very fact that medical science has made so much progress fighting this disease is a testament to the work and willpower of organizations such as  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, as well as the caring people who participate in fundraisers like our auction. The bidding in this year’s auction is quite lively right now, but there are still some really great deals to be had. And truthfully, there are a couple items that I would bid on if I could because they’re such bargains. So if you haven’t placed a bid yet, go ahead and bid now.
