I write this blog from the lobby level of the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. Olivia Falcione and I are conducting some interviews during Caribbean Tourism Week. (I’m yearning for a Caribbean vacation right about now!) I’ve found myself at this particular hotel three times over the last few months; an oddity, as I don’t think I’d set foot in the hotel ever before. A few weeks ago, I was here (again with Olivia) to “experience The Ride,” the interactive city tour I blogged about. The Marriott Marquis is the starting and ending point for the tour experience. The hotel is massive; I just looked up, and it seems to go on and on forever. Then, just last week, I attended an Incredible India event with Alex Young. There was unbelievable Indian photography showcased on the hotel’s ninth floor. We enjoyed a presentation, cocktail reception, dinner and entertainment that evening. The hotel is conveniently located near Penn Station, NJ Transit’s hub, and it was nice to walk to and from the event last week instead of catching a cab or riding the subway. And here I am again today — it’s as though I never left. I wonder what event will bring me to the Marriott Marquis next . . . — Kim Krol, eFlyer editor, circulation and public relations executive –
