As summer starts to wind down, there’s still time to squeeze in some beach time. I recently read about a unique way to experience the beach: by driving right on to it in Cape Cod … and in a luxury vehicle, to boot! Chatham Bars Inn partnered with Lexus to offer the Lexus Ultimate Beach Drive Experience. The luxurious off-road beach experience allows guests access to Cape Cod beaches from behind the wheel of a Lexus GX460. Chatham Bars Inn is the only resort on Cape Cod to secure the necessary permits to drive onto some of the area beaches.

The Lexus Ultimate Beach Drive Experience consists of two different offerings: half-day Coastal Encounter Beach and full-day Sunseeker Beach.
Both begin with one guest in each party driving a specially outfitted Lexus GX460, with a second support vehicle with staff following behind. During the over-sand-vehicle off-roading experience, guests stop along the way to take in views or relax on the beach. The support team sets up a “beach camp,” complete with shade, beach chairs, blankets, towels, beach games and surfcasting alongside a picnic basket lunch.
Both packages can accommodate as many as seven guests, with the experience ranging $1,200–3,000.
