Recently, a few co-workers and I went on an expedition to Newark, N.J., to meet with a client. We decided to make it a lunch and had plans to go to a restaurant in the area. We were quickly told of a local favorite, A Taste of Portugal. It sounded good to us, so we all headed over.
I noticed the high ceilings and open dining area immediately upon entering the space. The tables had a surprising amount of space between them, which I am a huge fan of, as no one wants to eat on top of a stranger.
The food was brilliant and perfectly portioned. I decided to go with the shell steak Portuguese style, which was ham and egg on top of the steak, drenched in au jus. I was able to finish the steak, but not so much the sides!
Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend checking it out if you are ever in the area.
