Marriott debuted its AC Hotel New York Times Square, offering 290 guestrooms in the heart of Midtown.
The property’s design includes an open lobby with 23-foot-high ceilings and an open staircase, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies in guestrooms. Accents include local and recognizable artwork, from sculptures to paintings, displayed in common spaces. Architecture is inspired by contemporary European styles, with a granite-paved plaza, pleated glass facade and Venetian terrazzo.
On-site dining includes Boqueria, a Spanish tapas and spirits restaurant, and Castell, a year-round rooftop lounge open to guests and locals alike. Castell opens later this month.
“We are delighted to introduce New York City to the AC brand’s ‘New Way to Hotel,’” said Corry Oakes, president and CEO, OTO Development, the Johnson Management company that developed and operates the new hotel. “In addition to intriguing architectural details, local artwork in common spaces and dynamic culinary options at Boqueria and Castell Lounge, what guests will truly appreciate is having space to breathe in this city that never sleeps.”

The property is the first of two AC Hotels by Marriott planned for Manhattan this year, with the second opening in the Financial District.
