Wyndham Worldwide was recently added to the Carbon Disclosure Project’s Climate “A” List. The CDP frequently evaluates the carbon footprints of the world’s top brands; this is their second year recognizing Wyndham Worldwide. This honor comes after the hospitality brand raised their Climate Disclosure Leadership Index performance score to a high of 98, which reflects their transparent commitment to mitigating climate change.
Wyndham Worldwide also announced they have met their carbon emissions goals six years early by reducing their carbon emissions by 20 percent. In light of the achievement, they have set a new goal of reducing these emissions by 25 percent before 2025. In addition, earlier this year, Wyndham Worldwide and United Airlines partnered in an Eco-Skies CarbonChoice initiative, which aims to assist business travelers in tracking and offsetting the carbon emissions that result from their corporate travel.
“Our progress continues to earn us industry distinctions that recognize our diligent and focused work in sustainability and the value we create for our shareholders, our associates, our partners and communities. We keep raising the bar for ourselves so that we can be better partners and truly make a difference,” said Faith Taylor, senior vice president, corporate social responsibility, Wyndham Worldwide. “This recognition is a clear validation that our accomplishments deliver tangible and meaningful results that aligns sustainability with effective business operations.”
Wyndham Worldwide’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy aims at combining business and financial success with sustainability, wellness and philanthropy. In accordance with this strategy, the company is continuously measuring and reporting on the sustainability of more than 50 million square feet of global property within the hospitality industry.

Mar 28, 2024Cruise Lines Elevate the Onboard Fine-Dining Experience
It’s been a long time since the food on cruise ships resembled the bland, uninspired fare that gave onboard dining a bad name. These days, cruise passengers can look forward to menus created by Michelin-starred chefs made with top-quality ingredients served in stunning spaces. Choices abound as well. In addition to elegant main dining rooms, cruise ships have created a huge array of specialty restaurants that focus not only on perfectly executed traditional European and North American dishes but flavors and experiences from around the globe as well. In fact, meals served aboard cruise vessels have gotten so good, they’re drawing passengers onto ships: According to a recent report by luxury travel planning network Virtuoso, advisors report after Europe (specifically Italy and France), the No. 2 dining destination for travelers is aboard an ocean or river cruise. “This shows how cruise lines have really stepped up their culinary game, with consulting chefs and new restaurants and making that a focal point,” said Misty Belles, vice president, Global Public Relations, Virtuoso.
