One of the most coveted holiday traditions in Europe is the holiday markets. These vibrant festivals attract locals and tourists. This season, skip popular destinations like Austria, Germany and Denmark and head to the charming Christmas Market in Grindelwald, Switzerland. Yuletide seekers can enjoy the winter wonderland of the Swiss Alps and cozy atmosphere of the quaint town.

Starting Nov. 30, the Swiss Alpine village comes alive with holiday spirit. Local vendors line the streets, offering everything from sweet handmade treats to hand-woven fabrics and arts to woodworking goods. Put on your best holiday outfit and take a stroll through the charming streets, visiting each stall and tasting Swiss sweets. In addition to vendors, the village also features snow-covered chalets where guests can relax and enjoy breathtaking views of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains.
The holiday spirit ticks up a notch Dec. 6 with a holiday parade down the main street, leading to the arrival of the big man himself, Santa Claus.
