W Philadelphia opened in the heart of downtown Philadelphia in a 51-story skyscraper. The new hotel celebrates the city’s street art, musical legacy and historic embrace of originality.

The hotel boasts an extensive artwork collection, most exclusively commissioned to local artists by the hotel. Its 295 guestrooms include 39 suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic city views. Pennsylvania craftmanship can be seen in guestroom details, like Shaker-style chairs. The words of the Declaration of Independence are illuminated in rooms, etched in graffiti font on a custom light fixture, while the bedspread features both modern and historic city icons. Suites feature the only private guest balconies of any luxury hotel in the city.

Joshua Lang will spin regular sets on property as resident DJ, as well as book DJ talent. The Living Room, inspired by Fairmount Park’s sunken gardens, will serve coffee by day and cocktails at night. Tucked away, Stevens’ Prophecy is a salon celebrating real-life Philadelphia royalty, Grace Kelly, and serving small-batch and limited-run spirits. On the seventh floor, WET Deck boasts a heated, year-round pool, while Dolce will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s also AWAY Spa, which embraces socialization with a lounge, beauty bar and DJ set-up, as well as more than 45,000 square feet of event space.
