Virgin Atlantic revealed its revised Airbus A330 Upper Class seating, redesigned in the style of the Boeing 787 product.

The retrofit of all 10 A330 Upper Cabins will be completed by early 2018. The aircraft is to feature a similar layout and design as the 787 which will ensure the airline’s business-class offering is more consistent across its fleet.

“We’re investing over $300 billion to improve our customers’ experience of flying with us including a new website, developing a fully WiFi connected fleet and the refit of our Upper Class cabins,” said Mark Anderson, executive vice president, Virgin Atlantic. “Over the next year we’re refitting all 10 of our A330s to offer a more consistent experience across our fleet.”

Features include new Upper Class seats, more overhead storage, a redesigned bar and the latest touchscreen technology in each suite. The Upper Class cabin will include 31 seats with direct aisle access; new flat-bed seats similar to those installed on the 787; the latest touch-screen technology; and the relocation of the bar adjacent to the Wander Wall in premium economy.

Premium economy also benefits from the refit with a Wander Wall concept introduced on the A330 enabling customers to stretch their legs, mingle and enjoy a complimentary in-flight snack.
