Did you know there’s a place in New York City where you can read, sip coffee and indulge in a glass of wine? Bibliotheque is the trifecta of a bookstore, café and wine bar, conceived by author A.J. Jacono.

This venue evolves with the day. When the sun is out, the space serves as a café, offering coffee sourced from Onyx Coffee Lab and pastries from world-acclaimed bakery Bien Cuit. The café also serves sandwiches like prosciutto burro and caprese, as well as matcha drinks, teas and small snacks.

Then, at 5 p.m., Bibliotheque transforms into a wine bar with a wine list reflecting different literary genres. The menu includes categories like Short Stories (by-the-glass options), Classics, Mystery, Travel, Adventure, Sagas and Epics, Fantasy and Romance, with more than 700 varietals and 3,000 bottles. There’s even a Stanzas sections, which serves half-bottles. You can also order by the glass or some extremely rare wines, with a special focus on French and Italian vintages. The Agriculture section features beers and ciders, while Criticism showcases 100-point wines highly ranked by staff and sommelier Scott Woltz.

At the wine bar, enjoy a deep menu of conservas/tinned fish options with accoutrements and charcuteries boards, as well as mezze platters and house-made sandwiches.

The entire space, of course, is lined with books, so you can have your coffee or wine with a good book in hand.

In addition to these daily features, Bibliotheque boasts a creative calendar celebrating the best of books, coffee and wine, including author readings, wine tastings, writing and wine education, and more.

Bibliotheque is open Sunday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.–11 p.m.
