Formerly known as the Historic Theatre District, the recently renamed ARTS District in Santa Barbara, California, offers travelers an array of cultural attractions.
Explore historic cultural landmarks throughout the neighborhood, including the 100-year-old Granada Theatre and Arlington Theatre. Tamsen Gallery recently relocated to ARTS District. The gallery features works by artist Robert W. Firestone. On 1st Thursday Art Walks, galleries and museums throughout the neighborhood stay open late and debut new exhibitions.

For fashionistas, there are many popular fashion retailers in the neighborhood. Ace Rivington is a men’s boutique from former Guess Jeans designer Beau Lawrence. Global fashion collective KAAREM’s ARTS District location is one of two outposts in the United States.
Popular Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market moved to the edge of the ARTS District. Held on Saturday, this market boasts seasonal produce from local farmers and growers. Many of Santa Barbara’s best culinary experiences reside in ARTS District. Santa Barbara Public Market is the city’s only food hall. Opal Restaurant and Bar is a perennial favorite of theatergoers. Modern Indian restaurant and wine bar Bibi Ji recently located to the neighborhood.

Santa Barbara International Film Festival celebrates its 40th year in 2025. Held Feb. 4–15, the festival hosts hundreds of film screenings, including international and domestic premieres and Oscar contenders.
