The Westin Denver International Airport recently completed the first phase of its multiphase property transformation: a redesign of its 37,000 square feet of meeting and event space, marking the property’s commitment to and continued investment in the future of meetings and events at Denver International Airport. Directly connected to the airport’s Jeppesen Terminal, the property is the only full-service hotel with direct access to the airport.

“Our goal with this transformation was to create meeting environments that feel intuitive, flexible, and deeply connected to place,” said Kurtis Hanson, general manager, The Westin Denver International Airport. “As we mark 10 years, this investment reflects both the strength of the Denver market and our commitment to providing planners and attendees with spaces that support productivity, well-being, and meaningful connection.”

The new design draws on water’s role in shaping the landscape of the West, found throughout in carpet patterns and a layered palette. The concept also sought inspiration in DEN’s public art program, including the “Outside In: Hotel and Transit Center Public Artwork” collection, bringing a sense of the region to the meetings environment. New furnishings, integrated greenery and LED lighting enhance both function, atmosphere and well-being, and floor-to-ceiling windows in the pre-function areas bring natural light to the spaces.

The 21 event rooms and 15 breakout spaces were updated with refined finishes and improved layouts, including adjustments to select boardroom configurations and enhancements to the Dogwood and Den meeting rooms. The hotel’s largest venue accommodates up to 850, with two expansive ballrooms and a full suite of breakout rooms.

Sustainability was a core focus throughout the project. The spaces boast Axminster carpets composed of an 80 percent wool blend, and trees were incorporated into the pre-function area.  The LEED Platinum-certified and Four Green Key property prioritizes energy efficiency, water conservation and responsible sourcing. Meeting planners can select from a suite of environmentally conscious offerings in the hotel’s Your Event, Your Impact carbon offset program.

With the first phase completed of the hotel’s $25 million property-wide transformation, further enhancements, expected for completion in spring 2027, will include guestrooms, dining outlets, fitness facilities and public spaces.
