Overlooking Tbilisi, Georgia’s, historic Republic Square, The Telegraph Hotel, formerly a 1970s Central Post Office, has been redesigned into a modern, distinctive hotel by noted Shanghai-based studio Neri&Hu, which debuted in June 2025.
At the same time, Silk Hospitality, parent brand of The Telegraph Hotel, officially joined The Leading Hotels of the World, making The Telegraph Hotel the first property for LHW in the country of Georgia.
The Neri&Hu team redesigned the 239 guestrooms, the beautiful façade and numerous exterior effects. The original Bolnisi tuff façade, for instance, was restored and maintained, as tuff provides a more rugged, textured appearance with varied color palettes ranging from gray to rusty hues, lending a rustic and natural charm to the building’s exterior.
Located in Tbilisi’s city center, one of the more unique features of the property are the new culinary and music venues, which include a rooftop cocktail space, Thai street food, Italian cuisine, and the best Georgian menus in the city. Other enjoyable experiences for visitors are the event spaces, a jazz club, the wellness studio and Rolling Stone Rooftop Bar.
“The Telegraph is quickly become [sic] one of the city’s main attractions and a cherished meeting place,” said George Ramishvili, founder, Silk Road Group. “In addition to the restaurants already operating in the hotel, we have introduced the Tatuza Jazz Club, the Rolling Stone Rooftop Bar, and an Italian restaurant. The Tatuza Jazz Club was inaugurated with a concert featuring Stanley Clarke, Beka Gochiashvili, and Dennis Chambers. Until now, Tbilisi has not had a jazz club of this caliber. The venue is now hosting live concerts and invites all jazz enthusiasts to enjoy them at the Club. On the top floor, we opened a bar under the legendary American brand Rolling Stone, making it the first bar in the region associated with the iconic international music group. It was launched with a phenomenal concert by Nik West. We are confident this venue will become one of Tbilisi’s most outstanding music venues.
“Additionally, the terrace restaurant Philosofico promises to be a delightful discovery for lovers of Italian cuisine [sic] The Telegraph is also part of a broader development strategy for Republic Square, as envisioned by our Silk Road Group,” added Ramishvili.
The Telegraph was once an important part of Georgia’s Soviet-era history. Used as a post and telegraph office, the Brutalist architectural landmark was abandoned for years. Neri&Hu’s intervention has allowed the hotel’s history to resonate in new ways. What was once a site of telegraphic connections has become a layered architectural narrative of community, memory and mobility. The Telegraph thus honors its legacy not as a dormant monument, but as an active, breathing civic space that continues to foster collective belonging in the heart of Tbilisi.

Mar 13, 2026Revive and Relax at Finisterra Spa at Martinhal Sagres Family Beach Resort
Most visitors remember Portugal’s Algarve for its 100-plus miles of golden, sun-drenched beaches. We remember this southern coast of Portugal for the quiet, white-washed villages and dramatic cliffs of its far western corner. And for the superbly serene Finisterra Spa at Martinhal Sagres Family Beach Resort, where we first discovered what a massage and facial could do for aching shoulders and faces parched from days of hiking along the sun-washed clifftops. Neither I nor my husband, Tim, had been fans of spas before that trip, but Finisterra made us believers.
